Serving Swanton and the Surrounding Areas
Brick by Brick, Block by Block, We Help You Build Quality
Deeply rooted in Swanton, Ohio, Tri-County Block & Brick, Inc. was founded in 1953 by Forrest and Roberta Cooley. They set up shop on the south side of Airport Highway, then known as the Chicago Pike, just 1/4 mile east of Main Street. What started as a local family endeavor along that stretch of road has grown over the last seven decades into one of Northwest Ohio’s premier masonry and building material suppliers.
It started in 1953
In 1969, the family acquired a ready-mix concrete facility from Swanton Lumber, operating it directly from our Airport Highway location. Though successful, the division was eventually sold to Dielman Supply, allowing us to dedicate 100% of our resources to Tri-County’s true passion – delivering superior concrete blocks and expert, personal customer service.
Driven by increasing demand across Northwest Ohio, we embarked on significant plant upgrades in 1994 by enlarging our kilns and integrating modern production machinery. Just two years later in 1996, we constructed a second high-efficiency facility on-site. This mileston investment quadrupled our output, elevating production to 23,000 block units per day to serve regional contractors and builders.
Our core focus today reflects the exact vision Forrest and Roberta, and their son Roger established: delivering top-tier concrete block products alongside personal, expert customer service. To offer complete masonry solutions, we also represent 15 premier architectural brick manufacturers, giving local builders access to one of Northwest Ohio’s largest brick collections.
Over 70 years later, Tri-County Block & Brick continues as a true family-run business. Today, sons Hans and Donavan are actively steering us into the future. Together with our experienced staff of 25 employees, the Cooley family remains committed to serving the builders, masons, and homeowners who keep our community growing.
